The event is also known for its non-commercial nature, as there are no vendors or transactions within the event except for the purchase of ice and coffee at the Center Camp Café.
The Burning Man organization emphasizes environmental sustainability and asks participants to follow the principle of "Leave No Trace." This means that participants are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and leaving the desert environment as pristine as they found it.
