For over three decades, Verdi's Aida has returned periodically to the very land that inspired it, staged at some of Egypt's most extraordinary settings — from a landmark 1987 production at the Giza Pyramids with 1,600 artists and 27,000 spectators over eight nights, to its more recent home at the Temple of Hatshepsut in Luxor, most recently performed there in October 2019. Each staging has drawn audiences from around the world to witness Verdi's timeless tale of love and loyalty set against the backdrop of ancient temples and monuments. We're currently awaiting confirmation of the next edition and will publish full program details, dates, and casting the moment they're announced.
