The Israeli Opera opens its 2026/27 season at the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center with a program spanning classic repertoire, Israeli premieres, and world-class dance. The season begins with Mozart's beloved fantasy opera The Magic Flute, following Prince Tamino's quest to rescue Princess Pamina, alongside Bizet's Carmen in a 1875-set staging by Jean-Louis Grinda and the world premiere of a new Hebrew opera set in Tiberias in 1938. The St. Petersburg-based Eifman Ballet returns for its 17th visit to Israel with a new production of Crime and Punishment, and the season also brings the Israeli premiere of Tchaikovsky's final opera, Iolanta. Rounding out the program are festive orchestral openings, chamber concerts, and family performances at one of the Middle East's leading opera houses. Demand for the season's premieres and star casting runs high — reserve your seats early.
