Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Festival
Now in its 89th edition, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino's 2027 Season presents twelve opera titles — including two in concert form — with seven new productions, a new ballet, and twenty major symphonic and choral-symphonic concerts, spanning almost three centuries of European musical tradition from the Baroque through to the 20th century. Music Director Daniele Gatti leads three new opera productions and six symphonic concerts, including the launch of a new biennial Bruckner cycle, while the vocal recital series brings together some of opera's biggest names, including Jonas Kaufmann with Marina Rebeka, Aigul Akhmetshina with Kristina Mkhitaryan, and Ludovic Tézier with Pretty Yende. The season opens on 15 January 2027 with a revival of Verdi's La traviata, marking soprano Kristina Mkhitaryan's Florence debut as Violetta, alongside further productions of works by Verdi, Mozart, Wagner and Strauss throughout the year.
