The Football World Cup returns to Europe and North Africa in 2030, when Morocco, Portugal and Spain jointly host football's biggest tournament — the first men's World Cup ever staged across two continents. Running from 8 June to 21 July 2030, it's expected to be the most geographically ambitious World Cup in the competition's history, staged across six countries and three continents in total.
To mark the tournament's 100th anniversary, three special centenary matches will open the competition in South America before the action shifts to Europe and Africa — with Uruguay hosting a game in Montevideo, the site of the very first World Cup final in 1930, alongside one match each in Argentina and Paraguay. The bulk of the tournament, including the final, will then be played across Morocco, Portugal and Spain.
